Michelin selection.
Simple standard.

As locations go, it’s hard to beat: find a spot on the terrace to watch the ferry chugging across the loch and stay the night to wake up to the fabulous view. Traditional Scottish delicacies and fresh local seafood lead the way – opt for a platter and don’t miss the delicious mussels. More info

Wonderful location to soak up the ambiance of the West Coast of Scotland, both within and outside the hotel. Super friendly staff, exemplified by the manager. The seafood meal we had was (excuse the pun) off the charts. Incredible Arbroath smoky cheese soufflés followed by perfect fish of the day dishes - cod and Dover sole. Our panna cotta deserts could have had a bit more flavour but that is a minor detail. There were some good quality wines available at sensible prices and and an excellent selection of whiskies to fish you and the evening off (if that’s your thing). My kipper at breakfast was again a triumph of excellent produce. Definitely worth staying if you can to enjoy the full sensory experience. Service: 5

Friendly staff and fantastic food. The use of scottish products is great. We even had a happy vegan at the table. Highly recommend this place. We had lunch and then returned for dinner the following day. You can also hop on the ferry to Lismore Island. Service: 5

Our first experience with the Pierhouse Hotel was back in April. We did not stay at the hotel but were staying locally and decided to come for lunch. The food was excellent and there was a relaxed atmosphere. Good menu size, plenty of the choice without feeling overwhelmed by too many options. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable - this was especially important to our visit as my partner has egg and dairy allergies. The staff understood these requirements and put us at ease. A varied vegan menu was offered, and after speaking to the chef, our waiter told us a list of options from the regular menu which either contained no egg or dairy or could be altered to do so.We enjoyed our visit so much we returned whilst camping in the area last Saturday. Again, we were met with the same excellent standard of service and food.Prices at the Pierhouse are reasonable for the quality you receive. On our last visit for mine and my partners share of the bill came to around £90. This included starters, mains, sides, a couple glasses of wine and a tip. In my opinion this was well worth it.
