The restaurant is beautiful and all of the food was very good. I think maybe a bit expensive but you can see the prices before you order, and also on the website before you even book a table. What let the place down for me though was the fact that not only do you have to go up to a counter to order, but also just to see the menu which is behind the counter. It was reasonably quiet when we were there but I can imagine there'd be a bit of a scrum around the counter at busier times with people trying to read the menu and/or order. It would seem far simpler and more convenient to have printed menus and a waiter to take your order.
The Priory is not the lovely Priory Hotel anymore, was a wonderful place to visit but it's not now as it has had a refurbishment, the Hotel bar is awful, should have left it how it was before, staff need retraining in customer service in the restaurant and bar, expensive food prices for what is on offer on the menu's, might be worth looking at an alternative menu than Spanish dishes not everyone is in favour of the menu, could do with offering a simple good old traditional style of food instead, dose not give the hotel a good impression of offering only Spanish food, in need of a mixed style of menu offering all sorts of menus like English and other types of foods, please reconsider with where the hotel is, and don't take the history from Caerleon Service: 2 Location: 4
