Amidst the bustling city of Loughborough, The Priory is a fine dining spot that offers a diverse range of cuisine types to its patrons. The establishment's ambiance is warm and welcoming, with a good atmosphere and efficient staff who provide excellent service. The interior design is modern and sophisticated, with a £650,000 renovation that has transformed the restaurant into a beautiful space. The prices are average, with a light bites section that offers affordable options for those on a budget. The location is easily accessible from the M1 jnc. 23, and there is ample parking available.

The menu at The Priory offers a wide range of dishes that cater to all tastes. Examples include gammon with two eggs, chips, and peas, vegetable curry, blade of beef with horseradish mash, broccoli with almonds, wild mushrooms, and gravy, and the Sunday platter, which features a trio of roast meats. Cocktails, soft drinks, and wines are also available, with a good selection to choose from.

The outdoor seating area is perfect for warmer days, and there is a bar area for those who want to relax and enjoy a drink before dinner. Nearby walks include the Outwoods and Beacon Hill, making The Priory a great destination for both locals and tourists alike. Overall, The Priory is an excellent establishment that offers great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and attentive service.

No prizes for guessing what this well presented pub once was a part of! It remains within the hub of an extensive range of ecclisiastical properties with possibly the Abbey of Mount St. Bernard at its centre. The Abbey itself, I promise, will be the subject of its own review in the coming year. However, we are reviewing 'The Priory' here today, where we gathered as a family, a group of 7 adults, and 1 child. The menu had a comprehensive offering, but I think that after several days of over rich indulgence, we all just wanted something 'honest' .. I certainly did! So I just ordered the 'Classic Burger' (£15.95). We all wanted to pay for our drinks separately, which our server handled seamlessly. This next comment might appear a tad 'off piste', but I thought that the staff uniforms were a bit scruffy for an upmarket establishment? That is an issue for employers, not the staff. At first, our server rolled up and introduced himself (Stephen? Brian?), concluding with 'I will be looking after you tonight'. The uniform, not withstanding, we were all well attended to throughout the evening. The menu seems to be designed around three courses with a complimentary range of sides. I am unaware of any other menu .. but we did visit on a Saturday night, so perhaps the menu we had was structured by an experienced chef to cope with the number of covers available? The menu that we were offered still offered everything with popular dishes all there, and it retained the 'WoW!' factor. If there is another menu, then I would love to try that out! The quality I sampled on their 'Saturday Menu' was "oh so good!" .. Generous cuts of Beef, to me, are the flagship for any menu - Unfortunately, on the night, I had no appetite! The wine list too ufortunately was denied the opportunity to showcase the delights that 'Flagship' dishes so often get to do. This contributor will be forced to return whereupon he will appraise the wine bin for his avid followers! Solely for the purpose of research, I hope you understand .. Promising to review the wine at a later date, and so too the genoroys bar with its extensive offering of ales (Doom Bar, etc), beer on tap, ciders, (with 'Lite Bites' on offer to soak up the alcohol at around £6.95) and some interesting lagers... one could easily while away several hours! If part of a group then be prepared to part with £200 - That might sound expensive boys but between 4 that translates to 6 pints each and some light fodder. The Priory offers tables for diners, plenty of 'nooks' for some privacy if your rendezvous requires that, lending something verging on the romantic if the visitors only have eyes for each other - and plenty if booths where groups can either meet for that social I described earlier, or for larger dining pparties where again, some privacy can be afforded if so required .. eitherway, the choice is certainly grand, romantic, and private with its tables, booths & lo-lit corners. The Priory is situated in an idyllic location too, surrounded by forest, woodland walks, and beautiful 'chocolate box' detached properties, each attractive in their own right - extending to 'The Priory', there is generous parking available for vehicles up to 3.5t which unfortunately misses parking for one lucrative vehicle - a coach or coaches, each carrying 55 passengers all tired and hungry after sight seeing all day. Why? I would like an answer from the management please. For our table, I think our bill was about £160 + drinks .. we did manage to sample the cocktails at £8.95ea - so our drinks tab would have been about £120 making a total spend of £280. We left a tip of £17 which corresponded to our £160 food bill - should we have left a tip of £28, which would have corresponded to our total spend? Your comments would again be of interest. Vegetarian options: Out of 8, there were just 2 vegetarians.. I confess - I have no idea what they had ... but there were no complaints! Parking: Nothing for larger vehicles such as coaches. Kid-friendliness: One should always be nice toward children and set a good example. It is recommended to refrain from eating children and/or any child related products. Wheelchair accessibility: In the bar & dining area space and access for wheelchair and/or mobility scooter is excellent Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Fish and Chips, Grilled Chicken, Hamburger Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free of charge parking lot
