It is the best place near Minneapolis Institute of Art. Being at this bar, taste nicely cooked chicken pies, fried pickles and fish. Draft beer is delicious, try it.

Having last visited Minneapolis over 10 years ago, I was looking for a local gem that reflected the community I once lived in. Absolutely, the Prodigal Public House fit the bill. Though the House was recently established, it felt as if its been in the neighborhood forever, with regulars--that occupied almost the entire bar-top --welcoming a stranger with me with (literally) open arms. A great community bar, with countless recurring stories I'm sure running through here. Squirrel, the surly yet not really surly bartender, like all great bartenders--didn't phase when it got busier and busier. Food was excellent--my first cheese curds in over a decade.
