A Disappointing Experience Below Expected Standards I had the opportunity to dine at The Reef Restaurant during my stay at Kuramathi, and regrettably, the experience fell considerably short of the standards one would expect from an establishment of this caliber. Firstly, my fish was overcooked. For a venue of this standing, I would have anticipated being consulted about my preferred level of doneness—a basic courtesy that any quality restaurant should extend to its guests, particularly when serving premium seafood. Secondly, we endured an excessive 50-minute wait before being served our "catch of the day." Such a prolonged delay, without adequate explanation or apology, is simply unacceptable in a dining establishment that positions itself at this level. Finally, I harbored serious doubts regarding the freshness of my lemon tart. The pastry's condition raised questions about its preparation time and storage. For a restaurant of this supposed standing, these cumulative shortcomings are far too numerous to overlook. The pricing is wholly inappropriate relative to both the quality of the dishes and the level of service provided. One expects considerably better when dining at a resort of Kuramathi's reputation, and I trust that management will address these deficiencies with the urgency they deserve. We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Reef Restaurant! The food was incredibly delicious, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. But what truly made our visit special was Nafiu—he was an outstanding server! From the moment we arrived, he took excellent care of us, always attentive, kind, and professional. His warm and friendly attitude made us feel so welcome, and his service was simply exceptional. We are beyond grateful for such a fantastic evening and will definitely be coming back soon.
