What a great place! Im an omnivore and my mom is vegan and this was such a delicious place to eat at! We were greeted by some seriously genuine guys that made us feel very comfortable. I got a fish sandwich and my mom got a vegan chick-un salad sandwich, and those were great, but the real star of the show was their spicy fried cauliflower shareable! WOW that was soooo good. Excellent vegan food options and also non-vegan food. What a great place to sit down and eat at. Their sangria was also surprising the best I think I ever had?! Really good food and had great service. I gave 4 stars for atmosphere because the metal chairs at most tables are very uncomfortable. Prefer to sit in a booth for better comfort. I'm reporting on my 1st & only time at The Root Trackside: I would happily return. I ordered the Fried Green Tomato Caprese (from the "Between Two Buns" section of their menu). The portion size was perfect, and it was *absolutely delicious*. Our server was lovely, especially as she accommodated our need to be on time for a concert at nearby Elon University. My husband & I agreed that we would enjoy a return visit to The Root. And we're picky. Go to The Root and see for yourself what a nice place this is.
