Location was in a backwater which suited us. However there's nothing to do there except walking and finding somewhere to eat out will take you many miles. The hotel evening meal, whilst enjoyable, was very expensive. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great view

Lovely weekend break, The Rosevine is a very beautiful hotel in a lovely spot, with great gardens and views to the sea, it’s a really lovely venue and would make a fabulous wedding venue. A bit off the beaten track, so be prepared for lanes and narrow roads, but the pay off is the location, once you arrive, it’s just a short stroll to the beach and cove. And a little further you can walk the footpath across to Portscatho village. Food was lovely, service by Nigel was fabulous, he was very attentive despite appearing to be single handed running the place at times. Our room was however extremely disappointing, tired decor, creaky floor, bathroom door sticking and noisy to open, fan would not stop running, kitchen area needing an upgrade and housekeeping standards questionable! We had a ‘pet friendly’ room in the garden annex, which is clearly substandard to the rooms in the main house, even though the price charged was still very high. I didn’t mention it during our stay as my partner had booked and paid for the stay as an anniversary treat for us and I didn’t want to spoil that for him. However feedback should be noted by The Rosevine Directors. Rooms: 2 Service: 4 Location: 4
