We are so sad Saucy Southerner is closing its doors. This has been a staple for us for breakfast for several years. The food is always outstanding and has an interesting twist. We love the grits bowl made from Guilford Mills grits, the breakfast platter, crepes with fresh fruit, the omelettes , and the featured coffee of the day! We always eat outside with our dog and will certainly miss being able to take him there. I cannot leave this post without mentioning the wait and kitchen staff as they certainly add a special touch to every visit. Best wishes to each of you! We hope a new restaurant will be in Matt’s future as he is certainly a gifted chef. Kid-friendliness: Kid and dog friendly. The Saucy Southerner is just kind of place I look for at the beach. The food is great and inventive with a fried green tomato on a BLT, yummy! I like that you order, pay and can either dine inside or outside. This place is a must visit when you are in or around Southport, NC.
