I have been past this pub on my way to Echuca many times liked the look of the building and had thought that one day I'll stop there for a meal, so this past Queens Birthday long weekend my family and I stopped at the shamrock for lunch, I was impressed with the menu so we stayed, my wife ordered the pork spareribs and I got the goat Korma both of which sounded so delicious but my disappointment my meal came out cold the only thing on my plate that was warm was the chips,my wife's meal wasn't exactly what she ordered she asked for spareribs and salad but got veggie's instead,they took mine back re-heated it and brought it back my wife decided she'd leave well enough alone and stayed with what she had as we ploughed through our meals i noticed that she was discarding a lot of her ribs when I asked why she told me it mostly fat and gristle and as for my goat,I don't know where they got it from but with the amount of fat on it it may as well have been the pork,all in all it was a meal to be missed and I'm sure the next time i pass through Rochester I'll give the shamrock hotel a wide berth and go on to the cafe up the road for a meal
