I went in after 6pm, it was very busy and had to wait a few minutes for a seat at the bar to free up. Their jazzed up drink was really refreshing. The tomato soup was really tasty as well. I was really impressed with the mussels, fries were on the bland side. Service from bartender was really good.
The food was very good but service was terrible. I went for lunch on a Monday it was busy but not as busy as it is for brunch on a Saturday (UES location). The waiters never cane to check on our table, had to flag them for sauces, asked 3 times for our check and they took so long to come back with anything..
Very good experience. The decor is beautiful inside. Has a modern and old timey charm, with the tiling and light fixtures. Huge interior and endless amount of seating. Good for small groups and big groups alike. But it seems most popular for groups of 4 to 6 people. Our group of 4 made a reservation and were seated as soon as we arrived, which was at 11am on a Sunday. We were seated at a four person booh in the middle of the restaurant. The Smith understand its ingredients. We ordered the Benedict Johnny. Cornbread was not heavy but very filling, fluffy and sorry too. The poached egg was cooked well. So was the maple chicken sausage. Just the right amount of this. The hollandaise sauce was dabbed with the perfect amount. The whole plate was in balance. The Short Rib Hash was terrific. It came served in a skillet piping hot. Who would've thought grits could be so amazing! Shoestring potatoes and poached eggs were well balanced and all the ingredients worked well together. There were also the Pancakes. These came with whipped ricotta, pecans, salted caramel sauce. The pancake was fluffy but filling. Tasty and very filling. Came with maple syrup on the side. The coffee was coffee. There were too bottles of water (one still, one sparkling) at our table that were regularly refilled by the staff without having to ask. Refilled like at least 4 times. Terrific service. Was very pleased by everything here. Would definitely come back if every in town again.
