I’ve visited The Smiths twice now, first in November 2025 and again in February 2026 - both on weekday evenings for dinner with a friend. And I can confidently say the experience has been consistent. On my first visit, I ordered the Teriyaki Steak with mashed potatoes while my friend had the Ribeye. My steak was beautifully done - tender, juicy and properly rested. The teriyaki glaze wasn’t overpowering; it had that slightly sweet, savoury depth you expect, with enough richness to coat the meat without drowning it. The mashed potatoes were creamy and smooth, not lumpy or stiff, and paired perfectly with the sauce. It was genuinely a standout main and still one of the better steak dishes I’ve had. For cocktails, I had the Smiths Daily (a tropical, coconut and cinnamon-infused whiskey blend with citrus notes) and my friend had the Burnt Orange (tequila-forward with grapefruit and agave). Both drinks were layered and balanced - you can tell thought goes into their signature cocktail program. Presentation is clearly a big focus here. On our second visit, we arrived late and opted for starters instead of mains. We ordered the Sweet & Tangy Bites (crispy boneless chicken coated in a glossy sweet-tangy sauce) and the Calamari & Crispy Prawns platter, which came with two dipping sauces. The seafood was crispy without being oily, and the chicken had good flavour penetration - not just sauce sitting on top. Portions were decent and shareable for two. This time I had the Honey Spell - a pear and ginger-based cocktail with honey syrup and vermouth. Again, delicious and very well composed. My only critique with the cocktails is portion size as they lean more toward aesthetic presentation than generous volume, and there’s quite a bit of ice. For the price point, slightly more liquid would make the experience even better. Food portions overall are solid - definitely full-meal worthy. No complaints whatsoever in the food department. Service is another strong point. From the gate staff to the hostess to the wait staff, everyone was warm and professional. We were served hot bread buns with real butter (not margarine!) while waiting, which I loved. The wait time for food was reasonable. I also appreciated how knowledgeable the servers are. I was about to order a cocktail and the waiter asked if I had a sweet tooth. When I said yes, she gently advised against my choice because it wasn’t sweet-forward. Ambience is calm and refined. Think light jazz, soul, R&B. You can actually have a proper conversation without shouting across the table. On both visits, there was a live trumpeter playing, which added a classy touch. During my second visit, a guest joined him for an impromptu performance, and it honestly became the highlight of the evening. The space has a Parisian-inspired aesthetic and shares a compound with a home décor store separated by glass, which adds character. The crowd seemed mostly professionals winding down after work. It’s definitely a great date-night spot and would work for small business meetings. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for large birthday groups as seating is somewhat limited and privacy is minimal. A small detail I loved: their water is served in personalized The Smiths frosted glass bottles instead of the usual plastic bottled water. Such a thoughtful, upscale touch. The experience was slightly better the first time simply because that steak set the bar so high but the quality of food and service remained consistent, which is why we returned in the first place. I’d definitely recommend The Smiths and I’ll be back. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₦80,000–90,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

The Smiths was AMAZING to eat it. My family came to have lunch for my mum’s birthday. One of us had been there before and confirmed we needed a reservation. I liked that we got an email ahead of time which confirmed our reservation. Their service was very good with polite and helpful staff. Our food timelines were clearly communicated and met, and every meal and drink was a 10/10!!! They also have decent portions, some we can call generous! I will definitely recommend and return. I especially recommend you get the Hibachi Poke bowl shown in the picture. That’s what I got and it was so fantastic, everyone ate with me.
