I thought after reading all the positive Yelp reviews this place was going to rock my world.  Let's just say the people were really sweet and the food was 50/50.  My wife and I went to pick up CSA at Roland Park and we saw The Smoking Swine food truck.  I got the Mac n Cheese and 1/2 ribs.  My wife got the pulled pork sandwich and baked beans.  Let's start with the good.  The baked beans was outstanding.  Meaty, robust and a meal in itself.  The pulled pork had a nice flavor but some parts were dry.  Now the bad or sad.  The Mac n Cheese.  Uuughhh... I adore Mac N Cheese.  So I was looking forward to Ooey gooey cheese.  Instead I got dried up mac n cheese with hardly any cream or cheese and no flavor and no salt.  The idea of goldfish on top is cute but definitely didn't add anything taste wise.  The ribs were so dry.  They should be falling off the bones and they were stuck on hard.  I really wanted to love this food but I have to be honest I was disappointed.  I have leftovers I don't want to eat.  If you go here I would recommend the pulled pork and beans.  I'm hoping it was just an off day for them.

5/5, easy. Everything you want in a hole-in-the-wall - excellent eats, great drinks, and ambiance. Wifey and I split the East Carolina brisket sando, the South Carolina sando with Mac and cheese ans hush puppies for sides. Holy. Cow. The sandos were both scrumptious - I loved the coleslaw and tang of the East Carolina but wifey couldn't get enough of the South Carolina's mustardy goodness. Brisket was melt in your mouth good on both, can't wait to come back and try the other sauces. The Mac and cheese was fire! Legit, it has a kick to it ! I was originally skeptical of the gold fish in there but wow, they actually provided a nice crunch and salt element that was unexpectedly delicious. Would get again. The hush puppies though...again, I was super skeptical! I've always found them to be hit or miss but our homegirl recommended them so I went for it. Best dang hush puppies I've ever had in my life. Oh em gee. They're so good, and there's legit pieces of corn! The razzle dazzle sauce and the old bay aioli really steal the show! Will be getting again and NOT sharing with wifey next time - she can get her own, these are too fricken good. Drew and the staff at the Hanover are a delight and we can't wait to come back and try more of The Smoking Swine's delicious menu!!!

This USED to be THE place in all of Baltimore, to get top quality BBQ. Every dish, All the meat all the sides, lived up to the name... SMOKIN'!... Guy fireti heard about them and came to town and featured them... And their food took a nose dive faster than a sinking submarine... It sucked the flavor right down to just above 'diner' food... Bland. The ribs tasted BOILED, I was curious at the sudden loss of taste, so i asked what had happened... When I said it lacked taste, like it was watered flown. The big guy got upset! Saying he'd never boiled anything... He didn't even offer to replace the shi*ty food. I haven't been back since. Such a loss... They once served some of the best ribs I'd ever had... No longer. As far as I'm concerned, this truck can stay parked.
