Had some dinner here as we were camping on the seafront. We were disappointed with both the food and the service. Waitress was overly friendly which made my partner feel uncomfortable, we had the risotto which was such a tiny portion and the fish and chips which didn’t taste fresh, frozen chips that tasted like they had been sat then refried, peas were not fresh fish big but the batter was soggy and feel like £20 fish and chips should atleast get you fresh food. We were going to have dessert but were told the kitchen was closed would have liked a heads up. Overall disappointing experience.

The food here is terrible! Portion sizes are tiny unless it’s chips but be warned, they come with free dog hair! The burgers lack flavour or any garnish, the chicken skewers were ok but over cooked, dry and the sauce didn’t help. Completely overpriced, I will pay for good food, but this is not good food. Expected so much more being one of only two restaurants on the beach. Service: 3

This is a review for The Shack, in the front area of the Smugglers Inn. We had pasties and sausage rolls for a lunch snack while we were on the beach, all of which were good value, top quality and hot. What more do you want in life?
