We made reservations 5 days in advance for a party of 6 for a birthday celebration. We arrived 5 minutes prior to our time and were seated with only one other table of 2 diners in the entire restaurant. The server was overwhelmed as she was the only person who greeted us, bartended, took orders and cleared tables. Our drink order was 20 minutes to arrive however our soup was out quick for 2 of us and cold. The other apps arrived 15 minutes later. Same with our meals. A 20 minute delay from the arrival of the first meal to the 6th. The mashed potatoes was cold. The empty appetizer plates were still on the table throughout our meal and we finally asked for them to be removed. The washroom facility was filthy with overflowing trash bin even though they had only been open for an hour. The toilet seat was cracked and pinched your butt when you sat down. The sink was filthy. You could see into the disorganized kitchen as you left the washroom. For an advertised facility that offers a higher end dining experience this just doesn’t cut it. The manager/owner needs to take a hard look at what they are offering..before the health dept does. Very poor effort. Won’t be back. We’ve made a tradition of going to the Stone Cellar for our anniversary. Always had a great meal, but not tonight. Half of their very small menu was unavailable (all the stuff I wanted,) My wine came in a dirty glass. My husband’s “garden vegetable salad” had no vegetables other than lettuce. Three of us ordered rib steak, and all of our steaks were overcooked. Our waitress was lovely, and reduced the bill slightly, but overall a very very disappointing meal. This used to be our favourite place in Perth to eat a few years ago. The owner was always there and he would come to your table and ensure everything was good.

New owner now but we always try to give our business to the local area and wanted to continue to support them.

Well post COVID, we came back to try the patio despite feedback from other friends. We had the oysters on the half shell and one was fishy smelling; never had that before.

We both had the blue cheese and granny smith apple mixed green salad. No granny Smith apples but was tasty until I noticed the black and brown salad greens that were starting to liquify. Gross. I pointed it out to the waitress and she apologized and said she would let the kitchen know. Ok I think she heard me...

I ordered the Frenched chicken and it was dry and the mashed potatoes were cold. My wife had the crabcakes and she said had the consistency of tuna salad.

The bill came and I noticed they charged us for both salads and never discounted anything. I asked the other waitress that handled our payment and told her about the salad and I would not have expected to have been charged for that and the response was "we will let Management know".

So we tried despite others warning us off and we learned our lesson. Not going back ever again. Would be embarrassed to take friends and family there.

Oh by the way, having $750-$3000 bottles of wine of the wine list is a little rich considering the rest of the package you offer. Don't try to be something you're not. I suggest maybe convert to a basic menu and serve burgers and beer.

We miss you Peter...
