A welcome stop on a wet walk back from the Pirate Festival. Full marks for having a different GF beer to most places. Price per person: £1–10

I only found out about this place because I had to deliver a load of logs to them! Cheri (the landlady) and Chalky (her partner) are really smashing people and couldn't have been more charming and nice to deal with. The atmosphere was of a traditional tradesman's pub with a pool table, a fire, reasonably priced food and everything was just really comfortable. It isn't a fancy shmancy place at all, but the various guys that were there at 6.30 on Christmas Eve were all other tradesmen, so I felt like I fit right in. They were all really helpful and set up a human chain to carry the logs through the pub to the fireplace. I can't tell you how nice this pub is! I wish there was one like it where I live - further down the coast near Dartmouth. Thanks Cheri,- I'll pop back soon, as I've now got a few new customers in Brixham. We had a very nice stay and could enjoy the british pub culture. As tourists we felt welcomed by staff and the locals. Also there was very good live music. This is a very sensible place :) Price per person: £10–20 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
