What a rare find: a beautifully positioned and characterful inn with super friendly service and good quality food - and not owned by a pub chain! The Tree Inn was a welcome oasis just outside the bustle of Bude in August. We enjoyed the Rigatoni Salsiccia and Moroccan Tagine, both of which were delicious! Well worth a visit - you can park for free after 4pm in the car park just off the main road.

I stayed here with my dad in a twin room after booking at the last minute. The owners were very accommodating and had everything ready for us to check in later that afternoon. There isn't dedicated parking, but there is free parking just around the corner between 6pm and 10am, which worked well for us. The room was clean and had a window with a lovely view. Our only issue was that it became very hot during the night, although that may have been due to the time of year. A fan in the room would have made a big difference. That said, it was excellent value for money. The shared toilet and shower facilities were separate but both were clean. However, one toilet did have a drip tray which could do with sorting. The room also included towels, slippers, and tea and coffee-making facilities, which was a nice touch. The complimentary breakfast was fairly basic, so we chose to eat elsewhere. However, there was a selection of cereals, bread, tea, and coffee available, which is perfectly adequate if you're looking for a simple breakfast. You'll need a car to get into Bude, but this wasn't an issue for us as we were driving to the beaches anyway. There wasn't anyone available when we checked out, so we had to call the property. Someone came out shortly afterwards to collect the key, so it wasn't a major inconvenience, but a box for keys would be useful. The pub itself looked lovely, although I can't comment on the food or atmosphere as we didn't use it during our stay. Overall, we had a comfortable stay and found it to be great value for money. With a fan in the room during warmer weather, it would have been even better.

Thank you for taking time to review. We have a couple of fans but it is a good idea to get enough for all rooms. Best wishes Simon.
