After you have seen El Corte De Madera, come to this cafe. The Village Bakery offers you to try good avocado toasts, hamburgers and prawns. DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOURE OVER THE AGE OF 50 !! Food was bland asked 3 times for the check. They have a 20% added surcharge- for that amount you expect exceptional service. However, you have better service from a chain than this place. The service was terrible tons of staff everywhere but not one was attending the tables. Found multiple tables with food from past customers. You had to even ask multiple times to have old plates removed from the table. I don’t not recommend coming here. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

We've been here three times over the course of a month - twice for brunch and once for dinner. As we like to hike in the redwood forest on the hill from Woodside/Redwood City, The Village Bakery made for a great stop off point before or after hikes. The food has been lovely each time. We especially loved the avocado toast, the peach & burrata salad, and their baked goods. The chives & cheddar biscuit was very good when heated up (so so when not tho, so get it heated!), so was the corn bread. We found that depending on who you have for your wait staff, the experience might differ a bit. Big shout out to Diego, who was our waiter on the first visit. He was excellent! They do charge a 20% service fee but we gladly paid it as they were great at splitting shared dishes for us -- all still beautifully plated and tasted awesome. We'll be back!
