This is another one of those awesome innercity pubs that I have actually been to a few times. In fact, it is one of those pubs that I have no problem going out of my way to visit because the atmosphere is nothing short of awesome. Actually, it goes beyond that with the great rooftop deck that they have, the really friendly staff, and also the great selection of tap beers. Yeah, this is definitely one to check out.

Ordered the toasted pork Ploughmans sandwich which came out cold (meat, toast everything except a little bowl of vinegar was cold), I asked staff if this was meant to be the way it comes out, it looked like a log of cold dog food sliced onto a toasted sandwich, the staff checked with the kitchen and confirmed yes it is meant to come out completely cold which seemed odd for a toasted sandwich which cost $18, the staff asked me if I was going to eat it, I said yes stupidly thinking I’d give it a chance. I should’ve ordered something else but didn’t want my table of 6 to wait just for me to reorder a new meal when he had to head off. They all ordered burgers and schnitzels which looked way more appetising. I wouldn’t recommend you order this meal, and I won’t be back to eat at the water rat hotel again after this poor experience.
