The Wayback is consistently top-tier across the board. Having been for lunch, brunch, and dinner, it never misses. The vibe is a beautiful, relaxed Hill Country retreat feel. Quiet, scenic, and well-curated. The Service is genuine with dialed-in hospitality. Warm, attentive, and unhurried every single visit. Dishes that stood out to me were the Breakfast Hash at Brunch - Perfectly seasoned, killer texture, and great depth of flavor without feeling heavy. And the Wagyu Burger at Lunch - Top-tier quality, perfectly cooked, juicy, and balanced on a bun that actually holds up. Easily a 5/5 spot in Austin whether you're dropping in for a casual bite or a full dinner under the trees.

Chic hill country boutique hotel with popular restaurant and bar. We stopped by and enjoyed their tangy sweet watermelon margarita. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a fresh and well sourced menu. There are several tables inside and out on their patio. There's a grassy lawn next to the patio, especially great for enjoying a sunset. I look forward to returning for lunch to try their biscuits!

Having found this somewhat of a hidden gem has turned out to be one of the best things we’ve come across in Austin in a very long time. We’ve experienced perfection across the board with lunch, happy hour and dinner. Then there’s brunch. There’s a lot of folks doing brunch out there and then there’s The Wayback. Wow!! 10 out of 10 from the buttery flaky *Texas Grandma Approved* biscuits to the custardy quiche and the perfectly light and fluffy omelette. Also the very best sausage, ordered as a side, that we’ve ever had! Service has matched the quality of the cuisine and has been simply exemplary. Kudos to Chef James and the team for creating a dining experience worth coming back to time and time again. Thank you to The Wayback Cafe and Cottages! Y’all rock!!
