The Wild Fig Restaurant in Cape Town offers a delectable menu of South African cuisine that is sure to impress. The establishment boasts a cozy and intimate ambiance, perfect for a romantic date or a casual night out with friends. The interior design could use a bit of an upgrade, but the delicious food and reasonable prices more than make up for it.
Located near the Protea Cape Town Mowbray Hotel, this fine dining spot offers both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great choice for any weather. The menu features a variety of dishes, including the lamb shank, slow-cooked pork belly, and the Warthog ragout pasta.
For drinks, the restaurant has a good wine list and offers cocktails such as the frozen margarita and the Jameson double and Lime. Soft drinks like Coke and Fanta are also available.
Overall, The Wild Fig Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking for great food at reasonable prices in a cozy atmosphere.
I hadn’t been to Wild Fig in years and it was a wonderful experience when I returned with friends with us receiving impeccable service as well as delicious food. The menu has a wide variety of fresh dishes with the kudu, lamb shack, crocodile and mine fish being dishes we would recommend. It is a beautiful setting under the trees that feels like a bubble of serenity in the city and a contrast to the other busier restaurants on Lower Main road in Observatory. I haven't been to the Wild Fig restaurant in many years, and it was a pleasure to see that it hadn't changed. We went there for lunch. The service was super efficient and attentive. The menu selection was excellent with foods to suit all tastes. The wine menu was very varied and not exorbitantly expensive. I had the chicken and mushroom pie, which was excellent. My wife had the duck, which was good. The atmosphere was quite and exactly what we needed after a busy Christmas. Best to book.
