If you’re anywhere near Horbury, The Workhouse Coffee Shop is an absolute must visit. From the moment you step inside, there’s this genuinely homely, welcoming atmosphere that makes it so easy to settle in and stay a while. It’s the kind of place that feels thoughtfully put together without trying too hard comfortable, warm, and full of character. The standout for me has to be their guest roast. Right now they’re serving a bourbon whisky barrel-aged coffee, and it’s something really special. You get these subtle, rich notes from the barrel aging that add depth without overpowering the coffee itself. It’s smooth, slightly sweet, and just different enough to feel like a treat rather than your everyday cup. And then there are the cakes honestly, incredible. Fresh, indulgent, and clearly made with care, they’re the perfect pairing for whatever you’re drinking. Whether you’re popping in for a quick coffee or settling down for a slow afternoon, it’s hard not to leave already planning my next visit.
