This has to be the best authentic Nigerian food I’ve ever tasted in the United States. I would even go as far as saying it rivals—and in some cases surpasses—some of the food I’ve had in Nigeria. You can immediately tell that the food is cooked with love, care, and attention to detail. Everything was exceptional, and I honestly have zero complaints. That’s saying a lot coming from someone who cooks Nigerian food regularly, takes pride in it, and travels around the U.S. tasting Nigerian food wherever I find it. I ordered the pounded yam (iyan) with ogbono soup and assorted meats. The meat was incredibly soft, tender, and perfectly cooked. The ogbono soup was rich, fresh, and expertly seasoned. You could actually taste the freshness of the vegetables and ingredients in every bite. I also tried the ayamase with rice, and it was equally impressive. Every dish I tasted was flavorful, authentic, and beautifully prepared. One thing I absolutely have to mention is the meat pie. It was outstanding. The pastry was soft, fresh, and perfectly baked, and it was generously packed with filling. There was plenty of well-seasoned beef inside—not the kind of meat pie where you’re searching for the meat. Every bite was loaded with flavor and filling. Easily one of the best meat pies I’ve had in a very long time. The service was excellent, and the entire experience was memorable from start to finish. I can’t wait for my next trip to Rochester so I can return to Esan Bistro. If you’re looking for authentic Nigerian cuisine made with care and quality ingredients, this place is an absolute gem. Highly recommended. Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The food was amazing, ambiance on point, and the service was spectacular. The tacos I had were worth every penny, and the menu is diverse. Food came quick and was a 10/10. I’ll be a regular, thanks Esans Bistro. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
