Theatre By The Lake

Theatre By The Lake in Keswick is an absolute gem. Located right by the lake, it offers a stunning view and a wonderful atmosphere. The building itself is a fresh new building and the volunteer ushers are always helpful. The theatre has two stages, one main stage and one studio, offering a variety of plays, musicals, and exhibitions. The productions range from professional companies to amateur dramatics, and there is something for everyone. We recently attended a performance of One Man Two Governors, which was brilliantly performed by a gifted group of actors and musicians. We also watched The Climbers, a well written and brilliantly performed production. The Tom Midnight theatre show was also excellent and very enjoyable. We even had the opportunity to experience a school trip, with the theatre set up for social distancing and a fabulous production. The food experience was unfortunately poor, with lukewarm cappuccinos and cold chips, but drinks can be ordered for the interval and will be waiting for you. All in all, Theatre By The Lake is a great provincial theatre, with first class productions and exhibitions, and is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area.
