We quite literally got scammed. If your restaurant is abandoned, then shut down your website and don’t take calls that are to your abandoned restaurant, rather than scamming innocent people out of their hard earned money. Shame on you all. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

The place was abandoned and had been for 2 months. And they STILL had the audacity to leave the website up? Where would we have eaten, the sidewalk? Seriously, unless there was another location I was unaware of, don’t get reservations here. The only thing you’ll find is a packed up building and disappointment.

Thirteen, the Midtown restaurant owned by former Houston Rockets star James Harden, is currently locked and closed due to $2.2 million in "delinquent rents and other amounts due to the lease," per a notice posted on the restaurant's door. Per the notice, "the door locks to the premisies have been changed and tenant shall be excluded therefrom due to non-payment of rent." A new key can be provided to Thirteen's management if the delinquent rent is paid. Attempts to contact Thirteen management were unsuccessful on Wednesday afternoon. The restaurant is still accepting reservation requests on OpenTable. Thirteen, located at 1911 Bagby St., opened in early 2021. The timing didn't exactly coincide with a period of warm and fuzzy feelings between Harden and his former team. The Beard sat out Houston's training camp before the 2020-21 season, sulked through the start of the regular season, and then made one of the most notable de-facto trade requests in basketball history in January 2021: "This situation is crazy. I’ve literally done everything I can. I don’t think it can be fixed." He was traded to the Brooklyn Nets one day later. Thirteen, to its credit, lasted in Houston well past Harden's trade, undergoing a rebrand in 2024 with a new menu created by celebrated chef Siddartha Cadena. But, like Harden, its time in Houston could soon come to an end. When Harden and the Clippers come to Houston in February, the future Hall of Famer may very well need a new home for a postgame meal.
