Good bar with really good cocktails and great service! HOWEVER I checked their prices on tabelog before I went and since o speak some japanese but read it quote poorly I opted for an English menu, and to my surprise the prices were hiked up but somewhere between 600 and a 1000 yen from what they were one month ago... Of course this could be a reflection of a general price increase, but with the trend of dual pricing happening in Japan I think it might have something to do with the color of my skin. Wish I could whole heartedly recommend this place but that part seemed way to shady to me... I didn't make a fuzz about it though since I'm not one to cause a scene. My advice, ask for the japanese menu and use Google lens or something. Price per person: ¥4,000–5,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My girlfriend and I (both Italian) discovered this bar by chance, and we’re honestly surprised it’s not listed among Nagoya’s top mixology spots. From the moment you walk in, the intimate atmosphere, elegant quietness, and perfectly curated jazz music create a timeless and refined experience. It’s the kind of place that can transform a simple evening into something truly special. The bartender and his team demonstrate real craftsmanship. Every cocktail feels like a tailored creation, executed with precision, balance, and great attention to detail. Despite the language barrier, their passion and professionalism are immediately clear. The drinks are inventive yet perfectly structured, with bold but harmonious flavor combinations. They impressed us so much that we came back two nights in a row. It was a nice bar I asked Located in Nishiki 2-chome, Naka-ku, Nagoya This is "Bar Thistle". The signboard on the road is a landmark Along Nishiki Street from Fushimi intersection It's located in the basement of a building a little walk east The store has a long and calm counter Calm from Burns The master will welcome you (^^) fresh fruit cocktail I decided to have it Kumquat fruit cocktail Cocktails based on gin Since the whole skin is used, you can feel the bitterness in the sweetness It's very delicious It's dangerous to drink gulps like juice (^^) Strawberry (Amaou) fruit cocktail I wanted something sweet so I had chocolate Lots of variety and very authentic! Chocolate goes well with alcohol Red lemon cocktail It uses tonic water and is refreshing I like the spiciness of Japanese pepper in the aftertaste (^^) Grilled sweet potato (beeswax) cocktail My first experience with a grilled cocktail! It's viscous and melty You won't taste the alcohol at all, and the sweetness of the sweet potato will spread throughout your mouth It's like a dessert (^^) It was a very nice bar with a great atmosphere and cocktails. Barnes is so popular that reservations are required. If you come near Fushimi, come to this store (^^) I'll visit you again Thank you for the meal!
