Went for dinner with my mum and husband and all our meals was poor.First of all creamy peppercorn sauce as advertised on the menu is NOT WHAT it is labelled as.In fact it is frozen pepercorn/Maderia sauce in a small blue packet. I will come on to this laterNo where does it mention this to you. Your standard creamy peppercorn sauce has brandy or even whisky traces. And is creamy white brown colour. The cause presented to me was red more like a jus or gravy. The lovely waitress was shocked and commented on how she had never see this colour of sauce before as it was dark and had a strong smell of red wine aka the maderia. She took it away and advised it would be taken off the bill. Apologised. All fine and well.Steak was a little chewy and tough but was edible.Husband's meal was ok he said he had bbq chicken and bacon with chips. Portion was small but not so much of an issue.Mum had to have oven chips due to her onion allergy and they try chips and onion rings in same fryer. Asked for fish and chips.... btw the fish had been fried...... Mum didn't notice until she had eaten some. The manager came over to clear the table and asked if everything was ok.I advised the sauce was not what I expected. He went on the defensive and became very patronising and shirty.Side note official complaint has been logged.I will not return to this restaurant.
