I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this Tim Hortons today. What I witnessed was honestly disturbing. While I was there, I saw a young employee get burned while working. She was clearly in pain and looked like she was unable to continue, but instead of being allowed to step away or receive proper help, she appeared to be pressured into continuing her shift. She looked visibly overwhelmed and not okay, yet was still expected to keep serving customers. To make matters worse, it seemed like she was doing nearly everything herself—taking orders, making food and drinks, and trying to keep up with the entire store. Meanwhile, a tall employee with curly hair appeared to be standing around while she struggled to manage everything on her own. Because one employee was left to do the work of multiple people, the quality of the food I received was poor. I don’t blame her at all—I blame the management and the lack of support she was given. This experience left me genuinely concerned for the wellbeing of the staff. No employee should be expected to continue working after being injured or while clearly in distress. If this is how employees are treated at this location, I sincerely hope Tim Hortons corporate investigates the management and workplace conditions. Employees deserve a safe work environment and to be treated with basic respect. If that’s truly how this location operates, I’ll also be reporting my concerns to the appropriate workplace health and safety authorities. No one should have to work under conditions like the ones I witnessed.
