We stumbled across this wonderful wine bar en route back to our accommodation from dinner nearby, and we are so glad that we did! Genuine hospitality is a rare thing in Rome, but Emiliano and Giovanna offer it in spades. On asking for a glass of red wine, I was quizzed in order to ascertain what I would like, and was then offered a taste to confirm that I actually liked the suggestion, before a glass of delicious, and very reasonably priced wine was poured. There is a small indoor area, and a delightful courtyard garden, where you can relax and enjoy your time there, with music playing gently in the background. I wish that we had discovered this place earlier, as the food sounded delicious too. Not to be missed! Price per person: €1–10

This place was an absolute gem. The establishment and the experience were both the best we’ve run across during our time in Rome. Emiliano(the owner) was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about his craft, is passionate about what he does and serving his clients, and the wine options + food pairs were immaculate. He even gave us other recommendations for our stay. He really went above and beyond, and did not have to do it. It’s the kind of service we don’t really come across much on our trips to Rome, as much as we love coming here. If you’re tired of the same crowded bars, poor service and are ready for a truly memorable experience off the beaten path, I’d highly recommend visiting Tipsy Monteverde. Price per person: €20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
