4 stars, why? The room was lovely .. a beautiful view over the harbour, looking out to sea All the staff we talked to were so friendly and really helpful, despite our lack of any Japanese. The location was great, literally a 4 minute walk from Toba station. The hotel is massive, and a bit of a rabbit warren .... for non Japanese it would be great to have signage in a few more languages, the hotel also needs some redecoration in places. Service: 5

Beautiful resort, the baths were pristinely cleaned and well-maintained. I enjoyed the private baths as well as public and appreciated the amount of them across the resort, with different scenery and aspects to experience for each. The dinner and breakfast buffets were delicious and had a good amount of options. The massage therapist was thorough and even recommended some stretches to help for specific areas. We were able to communicate in Japanese as well as over Google translate for detailed discussion. Ganbanryoku was relaxing and the lady there was friendly as well. The whole resort is like a museum with different things to do and see - you don't need to go out at all if you don't want to. Constructive feedback: Baths were sometimes closed during hours they were supposed to be open so i wasnt able to sit in a couple, the ones on the bottom floor on the outdoors and one upstairs which was sad because they were made of a nice stone and had the best views. Hence the deduction from service. Buffet selection didn't rotate dramatically over the course of 3 nights. Service: 4

Speaking of Toba, Todaya! It's such an inn that there's probably no one who doesn't know about it. I was very satisfied with the food and the bath. Nearby activities: toba aquarium Rooms: 4 Service: 4 Location: 5
