If you are interested in things of yesteryear, then this is worth the visit since there is quite a wide variety of memorabilia that deserves appreciation to whomever put it all together. There is also a good play area for the children and you have the option to eat outside at tables in the play area. The waitering staff were friendly and helpful. On the down side, the food was very average and the service at reception not so friendly and helpful. Lastly just take note that there is also a fee to be paid for children using the play area, presumably because of the "jumping pillow" which is of course great fun for them but then again, there are similar activities at other venues that are for free for paying customers. This decision is understandably still the prerogative of the establishment and there are of course arguments for and against. Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: R 100–200

The venue is lovely and quaint and a good walk down memory lane. Thats where it stops. The service slow, staff not trained to take orders. Delivery of food took forever. The biggest disappointment and horror was the bill. They charged us for food we never ordered and never charged us for the items we did order. Wont go back in a hurry. Reading through some of the reviews we had a similar experience. I hope that this feedback is taken as constructive if anyone ever reads them. It is very confusing and quite frankly disorganized. You get to the front area, there is one person on the till that seems to handle everything (all the waiters need to place the orders with her as well as do all payments along with anyone at the play area, which is self service) Its a huge bottleneck and it makes it painful to pay and leave too. The food was disappointing too, I had a chicken mayo roosterkoek. It was clearly reheated, it was so chewy and the chicken was bland. Typically small menus are created to make sure food quality is good and the menu is small. Also, I realize that you need to make money but adding costs to everything in the area isn't great. Lots of restaurants let kids play for free and they manage to stay in business.. it feels kind of wrong to charge R50 per kid to me anyway. (Maybe put that on your social media too) Overall it was disappointing but it is very pretty there. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: R 300–400 Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3
