Toga was one of those places that makes you want to come back before you've even left. We visited during happy hour with three adults and one child, and had an amazing time. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between stylish and welcoming, and I loved that my 6-year-old happily ate everything we ordered. Honestly, this might be one of the best happy hour menus in Houston. The quality of the food, the portions, and the pricing are hard to beat. Every dish was a hit, the onigiri, okra skewers, roe noodles, chicken skin, and tsukune were all fantastic, while the spicy slider and burger were standout favorites. The katsu curry instantly brought me back to Japan, and the carbonara noodles were absolutely delicious. Dessert was the perfect finale. The yuzu pie was bright and refreshing, and the matcha cheesecake with pistachio cream and strawberry purée was unforgettable. Between the incredible food, outstanding happy hour offerings, and welcoming atmosphere, Toga delivered a truly memorable experience. We left already talking about our next visit. After recently trying both Oru and Kira we were excited to try out the restaurant group’s newest spot, Toga. We had a reservation for 2 people for Saturday night at 7 pm and arrived a touch on the early side. They were able to seat us right away which was lovely. After doing my research on previous reviews I had decided we were going to get the burger and the carbonara but after a well placed recommendation from our waiter (who was great) we made a pivot. We tried: -Pickle Plate: This was a little too salty for me and probably the only thing I wouldn’t order a second time. -Chef’s Selection Yakitori: The meatball was the best of the 3 but we enjoyed the wing and the breast as well. -Wagyu Burger: Believe the hype, this was an outstanding burger. Cooked perfectly and messy to eat but in the best way. -Mushroom Don: Our waiter did not steer us wrong, this was indeed delicious. Chock full of mushroom and umami flavor we were very happy we ordered this. Our only mistake was not coming into this meal with a larger group. We already have plans to come back with friends to try the tuna carpaccio, carbonara, katsu curry and dessert torrija. Vegetarian offerings: Clearly labelled vegetarian dishes Vegetarian options: Several great vegetarian dishes like the mushroom don, tofu katsu, agedashi tofu, house salad, fries and a few veggie skewer options

I’ve been here a couple of times now and each and every single time the service is incredible! The staff is always on top of everything, they provide the best recommendations, and keep a close helpful eye on the patrons allowing for smooth experience. I highly recommend the tuna carpaccio, cold noodles, the udon carbonara, and the chef selection skewers! All three are a MUST try. Toga also just started a happy hour, I ordered drinks and almost half of the happy hour menu and it was an excellent deal. Looking forward to the next time I’m back!!!
