Sashimi at Toiro
Take a look at the image displaying interior and food at Toiro
Nestled in the quiet area of Hieharacho, Toiro is a cozy restaurant in Kobe best known for its distinctive charcoal-grilled dishes and seasoned small plates. Featuring a relaxed atmosphere complemented by nostalgic tunes, it caters well to solo diners and those looking to have dinner away from busier locales. The restaurant houses a modest arrangement of sixteen seats split between the counter and tables, creating an intimate dining experience often frequented by regulars.

Toiro boasts of a diverse menu featuring local specialties like Chiran chicken skin, freshly prepared with great care. Patrons often start their meal with fresh vegetable dishes before moving on to the main attractions—grilled and skewered options that highlight the quality of the ingredients. Alcohol, including a seasonal sake selection, is available, adding to the appeal for dinner. However, information about the restaurant's current operations is lacking due to the absence of recent updates from the owner, with the latest review dating back nine months.

Although there’s no provision for delivery, the dine-in experience comes with attentive table service, making advance reservations advisable to ensure seating. Amenities include gender-neutral restrooms, enhancing the inclusive feel of the venue. Visitors should note that Toiro does not accommodate wheelchair accessibility and is also a smoking-friendly establishment, accepting only cash payments. Operating hours span six days a week from Monday to Sunday, excluding Wednesdays, starting in the evening. Given its description as relatively expensive, diners can expect a generally high-quality though budget-conscious experience, according to previous patrons.

MUST GO! Okay it’s just slightly out of the main Kobe city area but these guys are as legit and local and awesome as it gets. Everything is delicious and despite the lack of English menu and only Japanese conversations, you will still have a great time. I missed to Cochin sadly but so many other stuff tasted magical - from the seseri to the chicken sashimi to the sunagimo to the egg onigiri to even the humble lemon chuhai. I was bursting by the end of the night and couldn’t even break SGD 100 despite reckless ordering. Please visit this chicken master! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
