One of the best dandan places in Tokyo. This place serves herb/medicinal based dandanmen, lighter and different from the typical numbing Chinese type. My favorite is the summer limited cold dandanmen. Extremely refreshing and a unique experience. The shop is a small 10-seater with a great atmosphere. Cash only! The store owner/chef is extremely kind and welcoming. He does his best to cater to non-Japanese customers, so please be understanding as he is a one-man team. Don’t be the kind of tourist that drags in 4-6 people and expect to be seated immediately. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ¥1,000–2,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This was the best ramen on my first trip to Japan! We happened to stumble upon this restaurant as it was opening on our first day in Japan. We felt lucky to get right in with 4 people. You order from the machine which the owner was able to help us. The place is small with a super cute, and clean ambiance. As for the ramen- the noodles are perfect, the broth is super flavourful and unlike any other ramen we had. Now that the trip is over I can say this was my favourite of my time in Japan!! We tried to go back on our last day but went by at a time they were closed, so we tried Ichiran! Nothing compares, I can’t wait to go back to Tokichiro on my next trip to Japan!! The solo cook is so fun to watch, and the calm atmosphere with relaxing music made my day. The food was delicious, I had the rich noodles level 2 spice. I’ll be back when we return to asakusa city.
