It’s the second time we visit this place and we were looking forward to it. However, we were ripped off this time and overpaid massively. The waitress got our orders wrong despite us ordering via a translator app and her confirming the order. It was really straightforward and we did everything to make sure she understood us and were very patient. It soon became apparent that the orders were taken wrongly, but we were patient and did not blame her. In the end, one dish we ordered did not arrive and the bill was over 10,000 JPY too high as apparently we got billed for dishes we didn’t order. Suddenly, no one could speak a word of English anymore and they did not even make an effort via a translator app. We left highly frustrated and will surely not return. Food was good, but we got ripped off this time. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3 Price per person: ¥10,000+

Tucked away in the heart of Ginza, the food here was absolutely delicious! If you're not used to looking for restaurants that aren't on ground level, Tokihami can be a little hard to find, so I have attached pictures, however, once you're in it's well worth it. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed and the staff are incredibly friendly, taking the time to explain the different items on the menu. The food was amazing, the sea urchin melted in the mouth and and the prawn curry (pictured) is a must have. The brown sugar pudding was creamy and light but packed with delicate flavour. Some flavours were really new to us, you might want to ask if you don't want a dish to be Torisashi, but otherwise enjoy the adventure! The wine selection was great and really complimented the meal. I will be thinking about this meal for a long time and would definitely return! Thank you so much to the team at Tokihami for being so friendly and making us feel so welcome - Ella & Adam from Wales.
