I had heard that Chiso Sotaku would be relocating from Ginza to Nishi-Azabu with a new name, and I was looking forward to its opening, but at the same time, the coronavirus hit. I had been hesitating to go to Tokyo for a while, but on an autumn night when I was a little tired of the seasons and the days of self-restraint, I decided to take the plunge and visit. Located on the first floor of a building just off the busy main street. From the moment we entered the store, greeted by the large plain wooden door and seasonal flowers, and were enveloped by the aromatic scent, we fell under the spell of the owner, who is also a tea master. Delicate and bold dishes were served on simple baskets and in beautiful vessels, making them the most delicious at that moment. Everything was powered up. I enjoyed talking with the owner and everyone else in the shop, and before I knew it, I had only taken a handful of photos. Even though it was a chilly and rainy night, I was able to spend an extremely hot and dramatic time at Tokiwa's counter.
