Teramachi Street is a great attraction for tourists who come to eat at this restaurant after long walks. Tokiwa is famous for serving International cuisine. Good katsudon and tasty cutlets are among the dishes to be tasted at this place.

I stumbled upon this restaurant after realising that many places don't accept lunch orders anymore (either too late or sold out; my fault) thus I didn't check for the rating (that is very misleading in Japan anyways). Entering the restaurant felt like stepping into another era, that I never experienced myself but the atmosphere created by the interior and staff was comparable to a visit to a friend's grandparents house, I felt welcome here and it didn't feel forced. Which is unfortunately rare in modern small establishments with their high-end pretentious vibe. Food came in a well sized portions, the taste polished by years of experience in practicing kitchen magic. The menu was only in Japanese, but with smartphone camera translation this is not a problem. I definitely recommend to try their oyakodon or katsudon soba set, it's simply delicious. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
