Disappointing Dining Experience – Would Not Recommend I recently visited your restaurant with a group of 7, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend it based on our experience. We ordered the banquet, but were disappointed to find that no dessert was included, which was unexpected for a banquet meal. The overall quality of the food was also below expectations. The prawns, scallops, and beef were of very low quality—tough meat and seafood that didn’t seem fresh. For the price, we expected much better. Additionally, when we asked for still water, we were told only still or sparkling was available. The "still water" we received was essentially tap water, and the bottle appeared to have been previously opened. Despite this, we were charged $8 per bottle, which felt misleading and unfair. Given these issues, I left feeling disappointed and dissatisfied with the overall experience. For the price we paid, I would have preferred a pot of tea for $4.50, which would have been much more reasonable. Based on this experience, I would NOT recommend this restaurant, especially when there are better teppanyaki options in Adelaide, such as Shiki at the Intercontinental and Erato in the city. We ordered the Rōku option from the Degustation Menu, as well as some fresh oysters, gyoza, beef porterhouse sashimi and wagyu beef and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The sashimi was incredibly fresh and the flavours were wonderful. I had forgotten to mention that we had a toddler with us when I made the booking online however the staff were accommodating and kind when we arrived. We were also very impressed with the wonderful waitress who served us. The service we received was outstanding. I will definitely be recommending Tomiko Japanese Steak House to all. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
