Quite possibly the best tuna steak I’ve ever had. It came on a bed of sweet potato puree that perfectly complemented the cauliflower and broccoli. In my nearly two weeks in Rovinj, this was hands-down my best meal. The only downside was the service at the end. The refrigerator in my apartment had broken, so on my way out, I asked if I could get some ice for my tumbler. The waitress handed me literally five ice cubes and said, “I need the ice for spritzers.” It was 22:30, and they were closing soon. Given that my meal (the steak, a local beer, and a glass of wine) totaled €40, she absolutely could have spared a little more ice. By the time I walked back to my apartment, changed, and went back out to find another option, the restaurant was already closed. Great food, but a bit stingy on the hospitality. The sweet potato purée with the cauliflower and broccoli is one of those combinations that either lands perfectly or doesn't, and we're really glad it did for you. And honestly, the ice situation is a fair call. Five cubes at 22:30, with a broken fridge waiting at home — that's just not the kind of send-off anyone deserves after a good meal. It was a small ask, and it should've been handled with a lot more warmth. We come back to Tone every single time we visit Rovinj, and it has become one of our absolute favorite restaurants in Rovinj. The atmosphere is amazing, the staff is always incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food is simply phenomenal every single time. During our latest visit we had the pulled pork burger and the brancin (sea bass), and both dishes were outstanding. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly prepared, while the fish was fresh, tender, and cooked to perfection. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients and the passion behind every dish. What makes this place even more special is the consistently warm and relaxed atmosphere. Every visit feels like coming back to friends. If you are in Rovinj and want fantastic food, great service, and an unforgettable dining experience, this place is an absolute must-visit. Outsdanding food, amaizing staff and service. Strongly recommend this place. We have tried most of the menu as we were a big group, everything was delicious.
