Tony Baloney's, a family-owned Italian establishment in Sacramento, offers delicious hand-rolled meatballs, hand-made cannolis, and classic subs. The interior design has an old-school charm, transporting patrons back to the 70s. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality of the food makes it worth it. Special features include friendly service and outdoor seating.
For starters, the minestrone soup is reminiscent of grandma's cooking and the cheese bread is a must-try. The pepper steak sandwich is a fan favorite, while the Italian cold cut and salami and pastrami subs are also superb. Those who prefer pizza can try the sausage and onion pizza, although it may not be their specialty.
Soft drinks and wine are available, but the establishment is not known for its bar scene. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a great spot to catch up with friends or enjoy a family meal. Tony Baloney's has been serving the Sacramento community for over 50 years and is definitely worth a visit for those seeking authentic Italian cuisine.
Tony Baloney's been in business since 1963 and had two locations the original location, College Oak Dr. , Sacramento, CA. 95841 remains. I remember our parents would get sandwiches for us and we could choose what sandwich we would want. Tony Baloney's lunch specials were affordable and I would often get the crispy pepperoni pizza lunch special that came with a drink, back then it was $6.99+tax. The menu hasn't been deviated from over the years and the quality is exceptionality. The menu is small but has a selection of submarine sandwiches, special sandwiches, spaghetti and meatball, spaghetti, ravioli, pizza, salads, childs meal, dessert items, etc. Check them out, dine in or get it to go. Try a pepper steak, meatball or sausage sandwich. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Pepper Steak

It's been several years since I moved from Sac. Flew home last week and the evening I flew back to Virginia I stopped and got 3 Italian cold cut subs. TSA wanted to search my carry on. I laughed and told them it was the sub. They spotted it, took a whiff, laughed and said yep that's it. Thanks ladies for triple wrapping the sub. Ate the first half in the Sac terminal. The smell of the lusghous onions made several people move away from me. Saved the second half for Charlotte airport. Again pungent and tastey as always. Best Italian Sub ever. Last time I ate one Tony sat with me and we talked. Nice man. May he RIP. Thanks again ladies. The triple wrap saved me from making a mess.
