Visited Toriiwaro on a weekday morning and arrived at 11:20 am, just 10 minutes before opening. There were only two people ahead in the queue, and we were seated right away with no wait. For that price, it’s an absolute bargain in Kyoto. The bowl comes generously topped with tender, well-seasoned chicken pieces, fluffy scrambled egg, and a beautiful raw egg yolk in the center, finished with a sprinkle of pepper and herbs. The balance of savory-sweet sauce soaking into the rice is excellent, and the chicken is juicy and flavorful.
