We could not find a spot for dinner, but managed to book for lunch at 12pm on a Friday. The reception is on the 43 floor and the reception staff took a bit of time to lead individual group of customers one by one to the right restaurants on the upper floors. The dining area of Torikaze was quite large and open. They have a lower chair bar setting that caters for about 18 customers, and there are two private rooms which can house for up to six customers each I guess. They only provide four set menus for lunch with price range between $340 and $480, and do not allow additional order of skewers. However, customers are allowed to order extra main alone ie rice and noodles. The first couple of skewers were surprisingly well with good smell of charcoal. Somehow the rest of skewers were either marginally undercooked or not crispy as they should for yakitori. The minced chicken rice with Onsen egg was a pleasant surprise. Frankly, for its location and setting, the price is expected to be higher than other yakitori shops in Hong Kong. If customers look for a high end setting yakitori place, this is it. To true yakitori fans who prefer a cozy and noisier ambience that allows chatting with the chefs and friends, it does not offer such vibe. The Japanese chefs follow the Japanese culture and send guests out of the door personally. Overall speaking, it was a nice experience which is a little different from the shop in Tokyo run by their Master.
