Horrible Service: Take my advice, avoid Toscana Ristorante Pizzeria: Last evening, my colleagues and I from Brunssum had a group dinner for our professional organization at Toscana Ristorante Pizzeria located At Heerlener Str.146, 52531 Ubach-Palenberg. The service was atrocious and the waiter was the most unprofessional and rude person I have ever met in the service industry. Prior to the dinner when I made the arrangements, I told him that I wanted separate checks for our group of 20. He stated at first he couldn’t do it. Then, I told him we would go somewhere else and he said, “Okay, we will do it.” The night of the event~ From the moment we all got there, he was rude. He took forever to wait on us. He finally took our drink orders and took an extremely long time. So, we decided to do some presentations. Our leaders were talking and presenting some welcome presents to our incoming personnel to our organization. He started yelling over them “coke, sprite, beer!” Delivering our drinks. They had to stop talking because he continued to talk over them. We dismissed it as a cultural difference. Then, he finally takes our orders for food. (The few times that I had gone, the food was good). To my surprise, the food was terrible. Many of my colleagues did not like it. But, we ate it anyways. I had Salmon with Lemon. It was horrible. I tasted exactly like a lemon, I couldn’t even taste the salmon. At the end of the meal, he says I cannot do separate checks. I told him you agreed prior to the meal that you would give separate checks. Then, he pretends that he knows no English. (Which he knew some English and understood me when I made the reservations. He even spoke English back to me.) He began yelling in German at us in a scolding manner. We had a German speaker with us and she translated. He continued to yell, and continued to make a scene. His colleagues told him to take it easy and he continued to manifest his anger at us. Finally, he let us ring up what we had from the main bill, then he asks, “If something is left, who will pay?” I told him, I will pay what is left. And then, neither my colleagues nor I will ever return to your place of business and we will let everyone know how rude and unprofessional you are. He said to our interpreter that he didn’t care if any of us come back or not. I was extremely embarrassed since I had made the arrangements. I also felt really bad because we had some newcomers and this was one of their first dining experiences in Europe. I have been in the Germany/Netherlands area for three years. I have never had such a horrible experience at any restaurant in my entire time here. We will not return…
