Had a wonderful dining experience at Toscana! The food was fresh, authentic, and full of flavor. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the pizza was absolutely delicious. The service was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great place for a relaxing meal. We were excited to try Toscano, but the experience felt awkward from the start. When we arrived, we waited a few minutes without anyone acknowledging us, and when someone finally came to the host stand, he seemed confused as to why we were there. Once I mentioned we had a reservation, his attitude changed slightly, but it still was not the warmest welcome. We had two servers throughout the meal. One seemed very uninterested and almost upset to be there, while the other was friendlier and more pleasant. Unfortunately, the food was also hit or miss. The margarita pizza was extremely disappointing. It lacked flavor and looked like it was made on a pre-punched grocery store-style dough rather than fresh pizza dough. When we were ready to order entrees, the server seemed openly unimpressed with the options we were considering and told us several of them were not very good. It got to the point where only a couple of entrees were actually recommended, which made ordering feel strange. The pasta we ended up ordering was pretty good—not spectacular, but not bad either. Overall, the experience was just odd. Between the service, the underwhelming pizza, and the strange ordering process, we were honestly excited to finish quickly and leave. We really like this restaurant. Food is superb. We had grilled calamari, bruschetta, and shrimp as apps. Ate every bite. Caesars with sides of salmon and swordfish were very good. Other entrées included frutti de mar risotto as well. Every one was pleased. The service was beyond great. Only ding was the tiramisu was lacking flavor, but everything else was absolutely fabulous.
