I really thought it was a nice store. It has an atmosphere that embodies the image of a Western restaurant. I was in Sawara City, Chiba Prefecture. Suigo, Sawara. I found a nice Western restaurant. Founded in 1920. A store with a history of almost 100 years. "Toyoken" Put up a sign. Toyoken is a long-established store that originated in Tokyo and is currently headquartered in Mie. An important restaurant in the history of Japanese Western food. Since it has a long history, there are probably many noren divisions and branch families. Thinking about this, I looked it up later and found that the founder of Toyoken here in Sawara had trained at the Tokyo store back when Toyoken was in Tokyo. I was satisfied. The appearance and interior of the restaurant are reminiscent of a classic Western restaurant, and it has a comfortable feel that sinks into your soul. There's nothing superfluous about it, but it has a pleasant old-fashioned feel. I believe that the sense of pride and heritage that has continued from the old Toyoken has been inherited. Well, this is what I was interested in ordering. "Indian rice" It's not Indian curry or curry rice. Katsu curry was on the menu separately. Now, what is this? It seems like it has been a specialty since its founding. The time spent waiting for the food was pleasant. A pleasant spring rainy night. No BGM. The sounds of cooking coming from the back of the kitchen and the changing smells that gradually come into the hall. All of them are comfortable. Now, this is the plate that my mother brought me. The yellow rice has a so-called curry flavor, but it's not too oily, mild, and elegant to be called curry fried rice. I wonder if it's okay to call it dry curry. Plump aroma and taste. Then comes the amazing pork saute. This pork saute was overwhelming. Hayashi SPF uses ``Specific Pathogen Free'' pigs raised in Chiba that do not have specific pathogens that adversely affect growth. Quality is guaranteed. Meat is delicious. It was thickly sliced, had a good texture, but was not hard, and the fat was sweet and delicious. Well, it's good meat. It's sautéed with sweet and salty soy sauce-based warishita, and the sauce soaks into the rice, which is really good. You want to mix this well before eating. The salad was decent, and the sweet Tsubozuke went well with it. Special mention is the miso soup. Really delicious. The green onions have a sharp aroma and do their job well, and the wheat gluten is also good. Wakame seaweed also has a scent, which makes sense. Best of all, it's well-balanced. If something like this comes out, I won't be able to say anything anymore. I'm speechless. The store is surprisingly located at the back of an alley, but it has a presence. The town of Sawara seems to be dotted with such shops. Not only the cityscape, but also the food, I felt that there was still something classically good about it. I have to dig a little deeper.
