Polite lovely staff is the only positive. Had the lunch special satay beef and combination choy min. Rice first. Fried rice is boiled rice with a few pieces of carrot. Satay beef tasted like dirty water. Very few tiny pieces of meat, mixed in a cloudy watery tasteless sauce with frozen vegetables. The same goes for the combination choy min. Both meals looked like they had been reheated from a pot in the fridge.
Avoid this place. Don't waste your money.

The lady serving at the front of house is lovely. I want to be kind but the food is terrible and a tad pricey $.

I ordered chicken and vegetable satay and my feedback is exactly the same as all other feedback.
Tiny lumps of chicken with frozen veges reheated with a sauce that was more Maggi chicken soup, definitely not satay.
I was thinking excited as the meal was pricey but for a good meal and treat, I was prepared to pay.
I didn’t even bother finishing my meal, I chucked it and had vegemite on toast instead. It was that bad.

Don't you just love being able to leave honest reviews after horrendous dining experiences?!? I just wish Id thought of reading some before we entered Toy Sun Chinese restaurant in Wynyard. Hmmmm where to start... The girl who served us tonight was lovely... Really nice. Couldn't fault her... But I feel sorry for her. How embarrassed must she have felt to witness a table full of faces hastily lean in towards each plate with squinted eye, looking for the meat. The child's sized plate of scarcely fried rice with 1 peice of ham in it was a joke right?!?! My husband and 3 growing boys have manners; they don't 'guts out'. They leave enough for the next person. But here's the thing. I was the last to dig in to the original meager offerings. Disappointment only escalated after this point. On scraping up the last of the Mongolian beef to the sweet sweet sounds of my youngest declaring "I LEFT THE BIGGEST PEICE FOR YOU MUMMY!", I discovered that the 'biggest peice' now on my spoon was, infact, just a big peice of brown, sauce covered onion. Not a single shred of beef in sight. Dark sauce on a dark plate hides so much. We worked out that there were exactly 8 thin slices of beef in that $25 dish. Luckily they give you finger bowls to eat out of. Clever mind trickery there. Full bowl; full tummy. Was the honey chicken supposed to taste like that?!?! Guess we'll soon see. Then there's my hot and sour soup. It had canned prawns in it. Yep! Sad isn't it. It's Tasmania guys! Wynyard is a seaside town and you are cracking open tinned prawns?!?! And thanks for dumping half a packet of frozen peas in there! I don't even like peas! And im still looking for the mushrooms...pork...egg... Tofu...bamboo shoots... But wait, there's more! $4 for a pot of jasmine tea??? Pricey, given it's only water and leaves!!! You can only imagine how much I regretted offering to share the pot with my husband when she presented me with my "teapot". It was the size of a regular tea CUP...and the tea cups themselves, were not much bigger than an egg cup. I had to laugh. I really laughed my head off! Suffice it to say, I really wish we'd gone across the street to subway...
