After checking the local spots I found this “gem” 4.2 stars with 2.3k reviews so I automatically thought it must be good. The amatriciana that my fiancé ordered was pretty good as well as the carbonara. We had bruschettas and a mozzarella with honey that were as well pretty good. But whatever you do, do not order the cacio e pepe. It was the most disappointing dish I ate in Rome. It was watery, bland and I had to pretty much eat it with a spoon. After taking with the waiter he just told me that it is what it is. Please trust me and just don’t get the cacio e pepe. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €30–40

Dear Guest, thank you so much for calling our trattoria a "gem" and for praising our Amatriciana, Carbonara, bruschettas, and mozzarella with honey! We are delighted that you enjoyed these classic Roman dishes. Regarding our Cacio e Pepe, we would like to share that our recipe strictly follows the authentic Roman tradition: we use only Pecorino Romano DOP, black pepper, and the starchy pasta water to create the natural creamy emulsion, without adding cream or butter. Because of this traditional technique, the sauce is lighter and more liquid than non-traditional versions, which can sometimes surprise guests expecting a thicker cream. We are sorry if this was not to your personal taste or if the waiter's explanation felt brief. We always strive to defend authentic Roman cuisine and provide great hospitality. We hope to welcome you back again on your next trip to Rome! Warm regards, The Team at Trattoria Angelo.

I recently had a great dine-in experience at Trattoria Angelo, where I enjoyed their Cacio e Pepe. The dish was a simple yet flavourful combination of cheese and pepper, making for a satisfying meal. However, whilst I admired the need to ensure the pasta is cooked to perfection i.e., al dente, mine was somewhate borderline undercooked and al dente. The prices were very reasonable, making it a good choice for those looking for tasty Italian food without spending too much. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere and attentive service, which added to the positive experience. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €10–20
