Antica Amelia Bistrot is a charming fine dining spot in Verona that offers modern Italian cuisine with a creative twist. The establishment has a warm and welcoming ambiance, with friendly staff that makes you feel at home. The interior design is elegant and chic, with tasteful furniture, soft lighting, and beautiful music that creates a relaxing atmosphere. The price range is reasonable, given the quality of the food and service. The place is located on a quiet street alongside the river, away from the crowds of the center of town, but still close enough to be easily accessible. One of the special features of Antica Amelia Bistrot is its lovely garden patio, which is perfect for a romantic meal or a relaxing lunch with friends.

The menu features a variety of dishes made with fresh and high-quality ingredients. Some of the must-try dishes include the Ricotta and Nettle Gnocchi with smoked Ricotta shavings, the rabbit Spaghetti, the lemon chicken, and the octopus. For dessert, the Tiramisu is a standout dish that is not to be missed. The establishment also offers an extensive wine list, with a great selection of local and international wines, such as the local Custoza white wine and the V. Ripasso. For non-alcoholic options, they have a variety of soft drinks, including homemade lemonade and iced tea.

Overall, Antica Amelia Bistrot is an excellent restaurant that offers delicious food, impeccable service, and a lovely atmosphere. It's a hidden treasure that is worth seeking out if you're in Verona.

Let's start with a self-criticism because we were part of the problem and therefore we assign ourselves a star. So it all began when in mid-September my wife booked for four people shortly after 1pm for the evening and to confirm she was asked to provide a credit card; uses mine without knowing what it could be used for. The occasion was Baglioni's concert and I immediately noticed the date error so I accessed the OpenTable platform from which it was clear that to cancel the reservation it was necessary to contact the restaurant directly complete with telephone number; Here I note that for the cancellation of a reservation made before 72 hours, a penalty of €30.00/person will be charged to the credit card (and here we discovered what the purpose of providing the card number was). I therefore immediately contacted the restaurateur who thanked him for his speed and when I asked him about the penalty I was told that I had to contact OpenTable which I did and if in doubt I also sent an email to the restaurant to leave a trace of the cancellation. In the evening just before 9.00pm I received a reply to my email informing me that the penalty would be applied and when I accessed my credit card statement I already found the charge of €120.00. Here the blame begins: the restaurateur claims that he simply communicates the cancellation of the reservation and therefore it is OpenTable that applies the penalty; OpenTable replies instead that it does not have the credit card data even if communicated on their platform and therefore it is the restaurateur who applied it so that he can return it and if he does not know the procedure it is possible to ask them; at this point the restaurateur confirms that he had charged the card but still passes the responsibility on to OpenTable by asking me for a copy of the email because he would have clarified with the local agent; I obviously sent the email to which I never received any response. Now what is the point of the matter: I understand that one of the biggest problems for a restaurateur is managing reservations and even worse those who book and don't show up cause damage and this could be a way to protect themselves; but what damage could we have caused by having canceled the reservation a few minutes after confirming it? Then a restaurant, according to the owner, with just ten seats, didn't assign our four seats to other customers that evening? I could understand the inconvenience caused by those who cancel a reservation a couple of hours in advance, but seventy-two? To me, frankly, this "modus operandi" seems to be a new form of business, making money with minimal effort. I asked to send the tax receipt/receipt but at the moment I have only received an email I imagine from an automatic OpenTable system which certifies the charge made on the card and nothing more and so I ask myself: does this email replace the tax receipt? I conclude with some unsolicited advice: set yourself the goal of making what you believe to be excellence in the world of catering known as much as possible and leave what is pure finance to the gentlemen who frequent the business square! I'm sorry I didn't try your cuisine and I don't think I will ever try it! I add this comment to respond to the owner: an angry comment that does not go into the merits of the issue but which highlights discomfort in the face of a negative review; the offer of being able to return within a few days was true (I repeat, a few days, not a few weeks) and the penalty would be deducted from the final bill (which would demonstrate that there was no damage) and in fact we had proposed for the following Sunday, taking advantage of the Cocciante concert but we are told that Sun and Mon are closed; at this point the opportunities to be in Verona in the following days had ended and for the record I live in the province of Vicenza about 85km from Verona and not in Mantua and therefore I would not have traveled 170km just to try your cuisine. I even spent a lot of minutes on the phone trying to explain how it works, but if she doesn't want to understand it's not my fault. Waste of time, I had no doubts. I also offered her the possibility of coming back to us shortly and deducting the amount, but she told me that she lives in Mantua and doesn't travel that far. (Mantua) We sent her the receipt for the penalty and that is, I know she wanted it by mail, but thank God I can do it by mail. what does he want? a receipt from my restaurant when he didn't even come through the door. Ps: I don't know if you got the wrong date, if you got a stomach ache or if you simply changed your mind, if I had to turn a blind eye to everyone who behaves like you I would have an empty restaurant all the time. I sincerely hope to never have her as a client, because such heaviness and insistence hadn't happened to me for a long time. I salute you - you and your star More
