After a walk around Termas Rio Trancura, many visitors stop by this restaurant. If you have never tasted Chilean cuisine, you should reserve a table and try the menu at Trawen. This place might be recommended for perfectly cooked chili, monkfish and mushrooms. Do not go away without tasting good gelato, apple crumble and queijada. You will hardly forget delicious Pisco sour, craft beer or Spanish wine that you can order. This spot has great cortado, latte or mint lemonade among its drinks.
Select between indoor and outdoor seating. The attentive staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place wonderful. Nice service is something that visitors note in their comments. A number of guests say that the dishes are offered for reasonable prices. You will appreciate the lovely decor and exotic ambiance of this restaurant. This place is of the earth. The food was so good that it brought me back several times during my stay in Pucon. They grow their ingredients fresh and orchestrate them harmoniously on to the plate. We chose this restaurant based on the overall positive reviews. There is a relaxed atmosphere to this place, and the kitchen faces into the dining area. There are no paper menus, and so the various dishes can only be viewed via a QR code. This may not be to everyone's liking. We tried a couple of glasses of their Pisco sour. These tasted okay, but I did note that while making these, many of the ingredients were poured out of premixed bottles. The mixed ceviche starter was really delicious with a nice range of fish and seafood in a very flavoursome sauce. I ordered the brisket for my main dish, while my partner had the sirloin steak. The brisket was very tender, falling apart on my fork. The mashed potato was a little lumpy, but otherwise nicely seasoned. The sirloin steak, however, was a major let down. It had several thick channels of fat running through it, and the meat lacked any real flavour. It had been cooked medium rare as requested, but had not been rested sufficiently, which made the texture rather tough. There were no sauces offered with the steak which was a shame, and the asparagus was somewhat soggy. We may have been unlucky with this dish, because otherwise the meal overall was really nice. Definitely worth trying while in Pucon. Trawen has a solid menu featuring Chilean specialties and organic vegetables they grow themselves. The restaurant was recommended to us and we liked it so much we went back another time. Their ceviche appetizer is quite nice. I had their Llaima and my wife had the Risotto de Cepas. Both dishes were very well executed. We very much liked this restaurant and would recommend. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $30,000–35,000
