After visiting Mosque of Basel, you can look over the menu at this restaurant. All the guests like wonderful Swiss cuisine at Trio. You can always degust perfectly cooked wiener schnitzels, salads and beef - a special offer of this place. Based on the reviewers' opinions, waiters offer good wine.

We were 3 persons for dinner. As starters, we ordered the mushroom consommé and the grilled octopus, both dishes were refined and tasty. As main we ordered the baked cauliflower with humus, which was not bad but really not exceptional. For such a price tag (29CHF) I would have expected some twist in flavours, but the humus, the pine nuts and raisins just made for healthy, but rather bland vegetarian dish. The other main was the mushroom raviolis with chestnut and cranberry. I believe the pasta was not home made, as the dough was dry and lacked flavour. No traces of cranberry nor chestnut and a very very oily dish altogether, I couldn't finish it! We drank a delicious natural orange wine, but skipped desert as overall the waiting time between dishes was very lengthy.... Overall the dinner was overpriced, with a rather disappointing service (though very friendly). Maybe avoid on Saturdays, and if you eat meat, take their Schnitzel, which is known to be one of the best ones in Basel!

Top notch! The best of what Basel has to offer! It's not only renowned for the fine cuisine, but it has an ambiance that embraces a new renaissance destined to put Basel in the middle of a new, hip cultural upsurge! Well done, Trio! You've nailed it!
