This was an amazing experience. I am not sure why there are some bad reviews of this restaurant as everything was perfect. From the ease of booking, to the "my concierge" outstanding services, to the staff but most importantly the amazing food. We had the 9 course dinner and every course was outstanding, prepared with meticulous perfection and very tasty. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Kyoto. This was a true local experience which we were looking for. Service: 5

Don’t dine here because of the photo of the building . We had 10 - course set meals. The food was below average, actually the most disappointing one during our trip in Japan so far. There’s no introduction on meals, never seen this kind of service for set menu. Such a sad place, the dessert was sliced fruits with mayo. Service: 3

Located near Gojo Ohashi Bridge in Kyoto, Tsuruse is a long-established ryokan inn that was founded in the early Showa period and stands along the Kamo River. It features a magnificent three-story wooden tower made entirely of cypress, and its exterior is said to be reminiscent of the bathhouse in the Ghibli film "Spirited Away."
